Getting a bit bored of a standard cheese or ham filling? Our tasty spreads are a delicious way to change things up. On freshly baked bread, they taste lovely at breakfast, supper and for snacks during the day. From substantial savoury versions to light, creamy toppings or vegan alternatives, there’s something to suit everyone. You may already have preserved some summer fruits ahead of winter or squirrelled away some jams for your pantry, but we recommend adding a few savoury spreads to see you through the colder months. Preserving isn’t just for fruit – you can also make hearty Calf’s liver sausage in a jar. The pâté is an absolute breeze to make in the Monsieur Cuisine, without any artificial preservatives. Onion, bay leaves, juniper berries, thyme, allspice, peppercorns, savory and marjoram provide an aromatic taste. Once preserved, it will keep for up to 8 months. If you’d prefer to try out a meat-free alternative, we recommend our Vegan ‘mince’. Our Homemade cream cheese is also easy to prepare. Not only is it wonderfully flavoursome, but the recipe is also easy to tweak; it can be made with sundried tomatoes and olives, pepper and chives, or rocket and walnut for an autumnal version, to give just a few examples. Our avocado spread with salmon tastes gloriously fresh and is great on freshly toasted bread, with mini-toasts or as a dip for crudités. A spicy hummus offers a taste of the East. This nutty chickpea dip is a tasty source of plant protein, making it particularly suitable for vegetarians or vegans. We hope you enjoy trying out these recipes and tweaking them to suit you!
