Baby’s very first carrot purée

  1. Peel the carrots and cut into 2-cm chunks. Fill the blender jug with 500 ml water. Place the carrots in the cooking pot, place in the blender jug and cook using the steamer button/15 minutes. Empty the blender jug, reserving a little of the cooking liquid.
  2. Purée the carrots in the blender jug with 40 ml cooking liquid for 30 seconds/speed setting 4–7, gradually increasing the speed incrementally. Use the spatula to scrape the contents down off the sides of the container. Repeat the process as necessary, until the purée forms a very smooth consistency. Add the oil and blend for 2 minutes/80 °C/speed setting 3.
  3. Recommended for baby’s first purée, age 5 months and up.


These baby foods can also be frozen ahead of time. Simply double or quadruple the quantities and freeze the food in portions.
