Baked apple with almond and marzipan filling

  • 4 large apples (720 g)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 50 g blanched almonds
  • 100 g marzipan paste
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 50 g butter

  1. Wash the apples, remove the core with an apple corer (alternatively cut off a ‘lid’ at the stalk end and carefully scrape out the core using a teaspoon) and drizzle a little lemon juice into the hole.
  2. Put the blanched almonds into the blender jug and, with the measuring beaker in place, chop for 5 seconds/speed setting 6. Add the chopped marzipan to the blender jug, with the cinnamon and butter and, with the measuring beaker in place, heat up for 4 minutes/90 °C/speed setting 2.
  3. Put the marzipan mixture inside the cored apples. Wash the blender jug thoroughly. Pour 1 litre of water at room temperature into the blender jug. Place the deep steamer basket on the blender jug, place the apples inside, close the steamer basket and cook the apples with the steamer button.



Serve with custard.

Baked apples are good for preparing in advance. If you would like to make a larger quantity of baked apples, you can also put them in an ovenproof dish and bake in a pre-heated oven for 20 minutes at 200 °C.
