Chickpea spread - a variation of hummus

- Wash the parsley and shake dry. Roughly tear off the leaves, then process in the blender jug for 8 seconds/speed setting 6. Transfer to another bowl and clean out the jug.
- Peel the onion and garlic clove. Place both in the blender jug and process for 8 seconds/speed setting 5. Add the olive oil and chopped onion and garlic, then sweat using the roast button/2 minutes/110 °C until the onion is translucent. Set aside to cool slightly.
- Rinse the chickpeas in a sieve, drain well, then place in the blender jug and purée for 35 seconds/speed setting 6. Add the parsley, thyme, savory, lemon juice, allspice and salt to the chickpea mixture and blend for 20 seconds/speed setting 4. Stored in the refrigerator, this will keep for about a week.
