Home-made peanut butter

MAKES 2 JARS (220 ML EACH)

  • 400 g salted peanuts
  • 25 g sugar
  • 2 tbsp peanut oil

  1. Place 50 g peanuts in the blender jug, insert the measuring beaker and process for 8 seconds/speed setting 7. Transfer to a bowl.
  2. Put the sugar in the blender jug, insert the measuring beaker and process for 10 seconds/speed setting 10 until you have a fine powder.
  3. Add the rest of the peanuts, insert the measuring beaker and process for 30 seconds/speed setting 10. Use the spatula to push the mixture back down into the container, then add the peanut oil and mix for 30 seconds/speed setting 7. Push the mixture back down into the container again with the spatula.
  4. Finally, add the chopped peanuts to the blender jug and mix everything using the reverse button/20 seconds/speed setting 1. Transfer to sealable jars.

 

TIP:

For a smooth peanut butter, finely blend all the peanuts as described in step 3.

This peanut butter can be used as a spread on bread, in Asian dishes or as a basis for other recipes, such as baked treats.
