Pear and plum purée with wholegrain rice flakes

  • 2 tbsp wholegrain rice flakes

  1. Wash, peel and core the pear, then cut into 3-cm pieces. Wash and halve the plums, remove the stones, then cut into chunks. Fill the blender jug with 500 ml water. Place the pear and plums in the cooking pot, then place in the blender jug and cook the fruit using the steamer button/5 minutes.
  2. Remove the fruit and empty the blender jug. Place the pear and plums back in the blender along with the oil, then purée for 30 seconds/speed setting 4–7, gradually increasing the speed incrementally. Repeat the process as necessary, until the purée forms a very smooth consistency. Transfer the purée to a bowl. Add 150 ml water and the rice flakes to the blender jug, then cook for 2 minutes/100 °C/speed setting 1. Leave to swell for a little while, then return the purée to the blender jug and blend all the ingredients for 30 seconds/speed setting 2.
