- Place the butter, flour, salt, sugar and 150 ml cold water in the blender jug and mix for 25 seconds/speed setting 4. Remove the pastry dough from the blender and shape into a ball. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Shape the chilled pastry into a square, then roll out into a long rectangle on a work surface dusted with flour. Fold over one side at a time into the middle so that you end up with another square consisting of three layers. Wrap in plastic wrap once again and chill for a further 30 minutes. Starting from an open end, roll out the pastry into another long rectangle, fold over the ends in a similar manner and roll out again, working from one open end to the other. Repeat this step a total of five times. If the pastry becomes too soft, chill it again in the refrigerator. Use the pastry as indicated by your chosen recipe.
Depending on the size, bake for 12-25 minutes.
