Red potato purée
- Peel the potatoes and beetroot, cut the potatoes into 2-cm chunks and the beetroot into 1-cm chunks. Place all the ingredients in the cooking pot, then add 500 ml water to the blender jug, insert the cooking pot and cook using the steamer button/10 minutes. Empty the container, dry, then add the sunflower seeds. Chop using the turbo button/15 seconds. Place the cooked potatoes and beetroot in the blender jug with 30 ml water and the orange juice, then purée for 30 seconds/speed setting 4–7, gradually increasing the speed incrementally. Repeat the process as necessary, until the purée forms a very smooth consistency.
- Recommended for babies aged 5 months and up.
It is advisable to wear thin rubber or disposable gloves when handling beetroot as it contains a strong dye which can leave stubborn stains.
