- Place the butter, sugar, salt, egg and flour in the mixing bowl and knead to a smooth dough for 1 minute 30 seconds/kneading button. Add 1 tablespoon of cold water should the mixture be too dry and mix in for 20 seconds/speed setting 4. Roll the dough into a ball, wrap in cling film and leave to rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Thoroughly clean the mixing bowl.
- Pre-heat oven to 225 °C. Grease a flan tin (28 cm Ø) and dust with breadcrumbs. Roll out the dough thinly between two layers of cling film using a rolling pin. Place in the flan tin and bake for 12 minutes. Leave to cool.
- In the meantime, wash the strawberries, pat dry, then trim and sprinkle with the sugar. Divide the strawberries evenly over the flan base.
- Combine the cake glaze with 2 tablespoons of sugar in a bowl. Place the mixture, together with 250 ml of water, in the mixing bowl and bring to the boil for 12 minutes/100 °C/speed setting 3. Quickly pour the glaze evenly over the strawberries, beginning in the middle, and leave to set.
