Instruction
Preparation time
20 min.
  1. Grease the inside of a large bowl. Place the milk, butter, sugar and crumbled yeast in the blender jug and warm for 4 minutes/37 °C/speed setting 2. Add the flour and salt, then knead all the ingredients for another 3 minutes/knead button. Place the dough in the prepared bowl, cover with a slightly moistened tea towel, then leave to rise in a warm place at a constant temperature for 1 hour.
  2. Lightly dust a work surface with flour. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Knead the dough on the work surface once more, then shape into a roll and divide into 10 portions. Shape the portions into rolls. Using a sharp knife dipped in hot water, make small slits in the surface of each one, then arrange on the baking tray with the slits uppermost. Cover the bread rolls on the tray with cling film and leave the dough to rise for another 30 minutes.
  3. Shortly before the dough has finished rising, pre-heat the oven to 220 °C. In a small bowl, lightly beat the egg with a fork, then brush the rolls generously with the beaten egg. Bake the rolls in the hot oven for 10 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow to cool before serving.
