White mulled wine
- Wash the oranges in hot water. Peel the orange peel very thinly and squeeze the juice from both.
- Put the orange juice, orange peel, apple juice, spices and sugar into the blender jug and, with the measuring beaker in place, boil for 8 minutes/speed setting 1/100 °C.
- Add the white wine and honey and, with the measuring beaker in place, cook for 10 minutes/speed setting 1/70 °C. Allow the mulled wine to infuse for at least 1 hour in the closed blender jug.
- Pour the wine through a sieve lined with a filter into a sterilised bottle, seal and store in a cool place until needed. It should be consumed within one week. Before drinking, briefly heat up the mulled wine. Do not boil it otherwise the flavours will volatalise.
The sweetness of the mulled wine can be adapted to your personal taste by using honey. It also tastes good with a shot of white rum. Homemade mulled wine makes a delightful gift.
